Robert Downey Jr. says “there are no plans for Iron Man 4”

October 8, 2014 by admin

Just one day after seemingly confirming that Marvel Stuios looking to develop Iron Man 4, Robert Downey Jr. has now unconfirmed his own confirmation on The David Letterman Show, saying there are no plans for a fourth outing for the billionaire playboy philanthropist….

“There’s no plans for an Iron Man 4. There’s no script for Iron Man 4“, Downey stated. “But [Marvel] have a plan and I think they’re gonna announce it. You know, they’re very secretive about it.”

He went on to say that although unconfirmed, he would like to still work with Marvel post-Avengers 3. “I’m gonna do other stuff with Marvel. I’m still going to be involved with Marvel, and there’s gonna be plenty of fun stuff to happen.”

Downey Jr. said recently that he’d like to have a guest spot on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. during a recent Reddit AMA.

So, looks like Iron Man 4 is off the table. Again. Or maybe he’s just being sneaky and his Ellen “confirmation” was letting the cat out of the bag too early? Downey Jr.’s contact with Marvel expires after Avengers 3 and he will be suiting up as Iron Man for a fifth time in next year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, whose trailer was announced to be attached to Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.
