Bloody Disgusting has revealed that production is set to get underway this week on a remake of Eli Roth’s 2002 horror comedy Cabin Fever, which – in a new low for Hollywood’s obsession with remaking and rehashing material – will use the exact same script as the original.
Eli Roth is returning to executive producer the remake, which is being directed byu Travis Zariwny (Intruder) and stars Gage Golightly (Teen Wolf), Dustin Ingram (Paranormal Activity 3), Samuel Davis (From Dusk Till Dawn), Matthew Daddario (Delivery Man) and Nadine Crocker (Deadgirl).
“Travis had an amazing vision for my original script, and as a scary movie fan I really wanted to see it,” states Roth. “I almost see this like re-staging a play, and I’m excited to see what ideas Travis and the cast bring to it. They’re all fans of the original and want to make a film that’s a new classic and I believe they will.”
Is this the most pointless remake in the history of cinema, or are you looking forward to seeing another version of Cabin Fever?
