A new trailer released for the next-generation and PC port of the record-breaking Grand Theft Auto V has revealed an awesome looking first-person mode.
The mode had been rumoured to be in the game for quite some time, but now Rockstar have officially revealed it, showing off the mode in a new trailer. From what we can see, it isn’t just a simple aesthetic change-up. The new trailer really helps to showcase just how much of a difference playing the game in first-person mode makes. Check it out here…
In fact, the next-generation port is looking pretty amazing all round. The immensely detailed and diverse world of Los Santos looks prettier than ever – the first-person view on the motorbike, during the night time rain, is astounding.
Speaking to IGN, Rob Nelson, the animation director, said of the new mode: “You have to change pretty much everything, I mean, if you want to do it right. We have a very solid third-person animation system, but you don’t just put the camera down there and expect to see the guns, aim, and shoot. All those animations are new when you switch to first-person, because it all has to be animated to the camera, to make it feel like a proper first-person experience that I think people would expect. All the timings have to be re-evaluated.”
The tiniest details have been paid attention to, such as your character putting on a helmet when getting on a bike, or working speedometers in car dashboards. All in all, the next-gen version of GTA V is looking like it might end up being the definitive version of an already excellent game.
