According to several outlets, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones alum Michelle MacLaren is in talks to direct the Wonder Woman film starring Gal Gadot.
Her name appeared on a recent shortlist that included other female directors, including Kathryn Bigelow, Deep Impact‘s Mimi Leder, and Twilight‘s Catherine Hardwicke. I’m personally a huge fan of MacLaren’s, and will be more than ecstatic if she lands the job.
Despite working mostly in television, MacLaren has proven herself to be a strong director. Plus, we’ve seen other TV helmers make the jump from the small screen to taking the reins of big screen superhero blockbusters, like Community and Arrested Development alumni Anthony and Joe Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War) and Game of Thrones‘ Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World, Terminator Genisys).
Tell us, would you be happy with a Michelle MacLaren-directed Wonder Woman film? Sound off in the comments below.
Starring Gal Gadot as the titular Amazonian warrior princess, Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 23, 2017.
