Michelle MacLaren confirmed to direct Wonder Woman movie

November 24, 2014 by Thomas Roach

There has been speculation for the past few weeks to who would be directing the upcoming Wonder Woman movie starring Gal Gadot. For some time TV director Michelle MacLaren has been rumoured to be the top contender, although there were several other female directors said to be on the shortlist.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, MacLaren is now confirmed to develop and direct the movie for DC and Warner Bros. MacLaren has directed plenty of episodes of great television series including Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. This will actually be MacLaren’s film debut but with so many great shows and a variety means she will surely have enough experience to tackle this project.

Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder are among those producing the movie. Gal Gadot will first be seen as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before getting her own standalone movie which is set for release June 23rd, 2017.
