Following a successful tie-in with this year’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, wit has now been confirmed that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will follow suit with Avengers: Age of Ultron , tying in to Joss Whedon’s hotly-anticipated sequel as its second season draws to a close.
“You should expect something,” executive producer Jed Whedon tells Entertainment Weekly. “The Avengers is the big tent that all the franchises play under. Obviously, we’re included in that. I don’t think any movie has the potential to impact us in the way that Captain America 2 did, but there will be connections.”
The second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will likely come to an end early-to-mid May, so there’s a good chance that we could see the show laying some foundations for the film (which is set for release in the UK on April 24th 2015 and North America on May 1st 2015), as well as giving us a glimpse of the MCU post-Age of Ultron.
