Back in September last year, there were some rumours that Warner Bros. were working towards a movie based on Legion of Superheroes and now today some new details have come to light. Maybe.
According to Bleeding Cool, Warner Bros. are looking to push Legion of Superheroes forward due to the massive success of Guardians of the Galaxy with the movie having a “Guardians-meets-Avengers” tagline. The site claims that the film will be “set in the far future, with a massive cast of superheroic characters spread out across a galaxy. And the tone is intended to be lighter than other DC superhero movies.”
The Legion of Super-Heroes are a futuristic superhero team from the 30th and 31st centuries. Their founding members are Cosmic Boy (Rokk Krinn, who has the power to manipulate and move metal), Saturn Girl (Imra Ardeen, a telepath), and Lightning Lad (Garth Ranzz, who can generate and shoot electricity). The team has gone through a handful of reboots and re-imaginings since their debut in 1958, are known to travel through time, and have teamed up with Superman in both the past, present, and future.
