It looks like Oliver Queen’s skills are going to be put to the test by his first super-powered villain this season, with IGN reporting that Doug Jones is set to appear in Arrow as Jake Simmons, a.k.a. Deathbolt.
Making his debut in 1983 in All-Star Squadron #21, Deathbolt was the result of an experiment by the Ultra-Humanite, which left him with several metahuman abilities, including the power to absorb and manipulate electricity.
Jones has previously comic book experience, having played Abe Sapien in Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy movies, as well as the Silver Surfer in Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. He also appeared as ‘Thin Clown’ in 1992’s Batman Returns.
