The Hollywood Reporter is reporting Will Smith is set to headline Bounty, a new crime thriller which Paramount Pictures has bought from writer Sascha Penn.
Smith, who is about to return to the screen next week with con-artist thriller Focus opposite Margot Robbie, will reportedly see Smith play “a Boston resident who is convicted of a murder he didn’t commit. Although he manages to escape from prison, the quest to prove his innocence is hindered when the widow of the original victim puts a $10 million bounty of his head.”
No director has been announced for the film, but Smith is set to act as producer for the film through his Overbook Entertainment company. After Focus, Smith will next be seen in Oscar-hopeful football drama
Concussion, which opens on Christmas Day, before he portays DC villain Deadshot in David Ayer’s adaptation of Suicide Squad, opposite Robbie and Oscar winner Jared Leto, who are portraying Harley Quinn and The Joker respectively in the Warner Bros. Pictures film.
