Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye confirmed for Captain America: Civil War

March 7, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Back in August, Jeremy Renner sparked speculation that he could be set to reprise the role of Hawkeye for 2016’s Captain America: Civil War by stating that he’d heard rumblings that the character would be included in the threequel, and now The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed his involvement in the film.

The site reports that Renner will be filming Civil War in April under Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Anthony and Joe Russo. The Phase Three launching film will see Hawkeye reuniting with fellow Avengers Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), while the cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Frank Grillo (Crossbones), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther) and Rush star Daniel Bruhl as an as-yet-unrevealed villain.

Oh, and Spider-Man will be in there too…
