Yesterday we brought you some comments from Twin Peaks co-creator David Lynch, who suggested that there “are complications” surrounding his involvement with Showtime’s proposed revival of the cult TV series, with subsequent reports claiming he’s yet to agree a contract to return for the new season.
However, Entertainment Weekly has reached out to the network, with a source confirming that plans are still moving ahead: “Nothing is going on that’s any more than any preproduction process with David Lynch. Everything is moving forward and everybody is crazy thrilled and excited.”
Assuming contract negotiations have been finalised, Lynch is expected to return to direct all nine episodes of the revival, which has seen Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn and Dana Ashbrook all confirmed as reprising their roles from the original series.
