Well, this is pretty big news, if a little vague…
According to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is all but assured a third season renewal from ABC, while the network is also quietly developing a spinoff show with S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszekski.
At this point, details are scarce, but EW reports that there won’t be a backdoor pilot episode in the current second season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., although story elements from the remaining episodes “will be used to lay the groundwork for the potential new series.”
Quite where this leaves a potential second season of Agent Carter is anyone’s guess…
