Earlier this week Marvel Studios made it official that Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War directors Anthony and Joe Russo are to succeed Joss Whedon on the Avengers franchise by directing the two-part superhero epic Avengers: Infinity War.
Now, BadAssDigest is reporting that – as expected – the Russos will be joined on the project by screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who have apparently signed officially on the dotted line to pen the screenplays. The deal will extend Markus and McFeely’s association with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having penned all three Captain America movies, as well as contributing to Thor: The Dark World and creating Agent Carter.
Are you happy with this creative team for Avengers: Infinity War, or would you rather have seen Joss Whedon remain involved?
Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 is set for release on May 2nd 2018, followed by Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2 on May 3rd, 2019. But of course, before then we have Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, which opens in the UK on April 23rd and the US on May 1st.
