The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Universal has snapped up the rights to The Real McCoy after winning a bidding battle with Warner Bros. over the pitch.
Written by Bill Dubuque (The Judge), The Real McCoy has man of the moment Chris Pratt attached to the lead role of bootlegger Bill McCoy, whose penchant for not cutting his liquor coined the phrase ‘the real McCoy’.
Chris Pratt will next be seen in Jurassic World, which opens in June, while he’s set to shoot The Magnificent Seven remake this year, and also has Guardians of the Galaxy 2 on his upcoming slate.
