After a five-year hiatus, a brand-new instalment in the Wrong Turn franchise is currently in development. According to the local reporter, Sheila Vilvens, filming as begun in Ohio as she tweeted, “I must have missed a memo. Just learned film crews are in the Village of New Richmond through September 13 to film scenes for a Wrong Turn movie series.”

This new instalment in the cannibals-in-the-woods series is reportedly a reboot with Mike P. Nelson directing the new movie for Constantin Films and franchise creator, Alan B. McElroy, returning to write the script. Even though there are no details on the plot, it’s safe to assume it will consist of a group of travellers trapped in the woods with several cannibals – hopefully including the iconic villain, Three Finger.
The franchise kicked off in 2003 with Wrong Turn and spawned five sequels including Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007), Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead (2009), Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings (2011), Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines (2012), and Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort (2014).
