Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) and Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries) have joined the espionage action thriller The Bricklayer from director Renny Harlin (The Legend of Hercules) according to Deadline.
The Bricklayer sees “someone is blackmailing the CIA by assassinating foreign journalists and making it look like the agency is responsible. As the world begins to unite against the U.S., the CIA must lure its most brilliant – and rebellious – operative out of retirement, forcing him to confront his checkered past while unraveling an international conspiracy.”
The script was written by Hanna Weg (Septembers of Shiraz) and Matt Johnson (Into the Blue). Producing the film are Millennium Media and Eckhart’s Olympus Has Fallen co-star Gerard Butler alongside Jeffrey Greenstein, Les Weldon, Jonathan Yunger, Yariv Lerner and Rob Van Norden with Millennium’s Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson and Tanner Mobley. Also producing is G-Base’s Alan Siegel and Danielle Robinson and Eclectic Pictures’ Heidi Jo Markel.
Production on The Bricklayer is set to begin next month, with the film shooting in Greece and Bulgaria.
