Bad news for any fans of Time After Time, as ABC has pulled the plug on the drama series, removing the show from its Sunday night schedule after just five episodes amid dwindling ratings.
The series, developed by Kevin Williamson (Scream) and based on Karl Alexander’s sci-fi novel, stars Freddie Stroma as H.G. Wells, who travels into the present to hunt John Stevenson, a.k.a. Jack the Ripper, played by Josh Bowman.
Time After Time premiered on March 5th, pulling a low rating of 0.7 in the key 18-49 demographic, and 2.53 million viewers overall. However, its latest episode managed just 1.87 million viewers, forcing the network to call time on the series. It will be replaced in the Sunday night scheduled by the Alec Baldwin-hosted celebrity gameshow Match Game.
