Well, it looks like Hayley Atwell could have fit another season of Agent Carter into her schedule after all, as ABC has opted against a back order for the legal drama Conviction, effectively cancelling the show after just 13 episodes.
The network has announced that the eight remaining unaired episodes will be broadcast, although they may not continue to air in the current 10pm timeslot. ABC is also retaining an option for a second season, although that seems highly unlikely given its failure to secure a back order for a full first season.
Conviction – which sees Atwell starring alongside Eddie Cahill, Shawn Ashmore, Merrin Dungey, Emily Kinney, Manny Montana and Daniel Franzese – began its run with a modest 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demo, before slipping to a series low of 0.6 with its fifth episode.
