According to Chris Hemsworth, joining the DC Extended Universe is “illegal” for a Marvel actor

Unless you’ve been in cryogenic sleep for the past 10 years, you probably have some idea of the (often hilarious) rivalry between DC Comics, and Marvel fans when it comes to their respective film franchises. While not really shared between the actors, or directors of both studios, many fans have a heated loyalty to one side, or another.

Now, what if this rivalry actually extended to contracts? What if crossing the line from Marvel to (gasp!) DC could actually get an actor fired? According to Chris Hemsworth, it may actually be illegal for a Marvel actor to join the “other” side. A Twitter user by the name of Tyler James shared this Tweet, in which he quotes the Thor actor during a panel at the Supernova Comic-Con in Australia:

Chris Hemsworth is known for being just as much of a joker on set as Robert Downey Jr., and the rest of the Avengers team. Could he be pulling everyone’s leg? Josh Brolin just joined Deadpool 2 as Cable, and we all know he has been floating in that chair as Thanos in the MCU for quite some time now. However, even if they are different studios, those are both Marvel properties. Could it really be “illegal” to join a DC film? It would be interesting to hear more about this, to say the least.
