Writer Akiva Goldsman is ready for Constantine 2, and it seems that the long-awaited script is closer to completion than ever before.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura says he has the script in hand and is nervously excited.
“You know it’s in my inbox right now. Funny enough, I’m too scared to read it, though. I want it to be good so bad. I probably read it in the next few days. When I get on an airplane,” says the producer.
Our last update for this Constantine sequel came in late 2023, as the director, writer, and producer got together and were looking to begin working on the new installment.
The 2005 film Constantine, directed by Francis Lawrence and based on the DC Comics Hellblazer series, stars Keanu Reeves as John Constantine, a demon hunter who can see demons and angels in their actual forms. It also stars Rachel Weisz as Angela Dodson, Shia LaBeouf as Chas Kramer, Tilda Swinton as Gabriel, Djimon Hounsou as Papa Midnite, and Peter Stormare as Lucifer Morningstar.
