Al Pacino the latest to join Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

June 8, 2018 by Ricky Church

Just a day after learning the latest cast members for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, it seems that Quentin Tarantino isn’t quite done just yet as Variety has reported the latest actor to join the film is none other than Al Pacino (Heat).

Pacino will portray Marvin Shwarz, a fictitious Hollywood agent to Leo DiCaprio’s out-of-work actor character. This will be Pacino’s first time working with Tarantino. He joins a cast that already includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Burt Reynolds, Timothy Olyphant, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Damien Lewis, Dakota Fanning, Luke Perry, Emile Hirsch, Clifton Collins Jr., Keith Jefferson and Nicholas Hammond.

The film is described as a Pulp Fiction-like tapestry that revolves around several characters at the height of the Manson Murders in the summer of 1969. The Manson Murders serves as a backdrop to the main story with Robbie playing actress Sharon Tate, the most well known victim of Charles Manson and his cult.

A story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), former star of a western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbour… Sharon Tate.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is set for release on August 9th, 2019, the 50th anniversary of the murder of Sharon Tate.
