In gestation since early last year, Tom Hanks (Saving Private Ryan) is prepping himself for his re-teaming with Steven Spielberg (Jurassic Park) in the still-untitled film about the incident involving a U-2 spy plane. And if the re-team of Hanks and Spielberg, as well as a script from Joel & Ethan Coen (Inside Llewyn Davis) wasn’t enough to get you salivating, the supporting cast in slowly filling up with some great talent.
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Amy Ryan (Escape Plan) has signed on to play Hanks’ wife and that Alan Alda (M*A*S*H), Eve Hewson (Enough Said) and Billy Magnussen (Into The Woods) are all currently in negotiations to join them.
Based on the true story of James Donovan, the project follows the American attorney who was tasked with negotiating the release of pilot Gary Powers in the wake of the 1960 international incident, which will be co-financed by 20th Century Fox and Dreamworks.
The film is set to hit cinemas October 16, 2015.
