Alden Ehrenreich, the star of Solo: A Star Wars Story, is open to returning as Han if the project is right.
While Solo wasn’t the big box office breaker that other Star Wars movies have been, the film has collected a strong following in the time since its release with many calling for a continuation of the story in some form or another.
Alden Ehrenreich, was the actor to portray the young Han in the film, picking up the mantle from Harrison Ford’s legendary performance. But would Ehrenreich be interested in returning? Well, when speaking to Esquire he said:
“It depends on what it is. It depends on how it’s done. It depends if it feels innate to the story.”
So that’s a conditional yes from the actor. Which makes sense. When asked if he has heard anything about a direct sequel to Solo he replied: “No, I don’t know anything about that. I mean, you know, I think our movie was kind of the last of the conventional-era Star Wars movie release time.”
But when asked if he has heard anything at all about Han’s return in the future, he replied: “I’ve heard soooome stuff, but nothing concrete….I had to like, dust off my old Star Wars answers.”
