Alien social media posts tease mystery new project

December 26, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Over the past week, the official Alien Instagram account has been posting a series of animated teasers for a mystery project, complete with captions for a ‘ 6-Part Dossier Exposing the Secret History of Weyland-Yutani’, which detail the company’s unscrupulous attempts to weaponise the xenomorph. Check them out here…

So, what could these all be about? Well, it seems unlikely it’s for another movie, given that Fox put the brakes on the series following the negative reception to Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant. A potential TV series has been rumoured several times this year, while there’s also a new video game in the works,. However, the best bet appears to be the upcoming Dark Horse comic book series Aliens: Resistance, given that it is set to launch in just a few short weeks and the synopsis for the first issue reads:

Following the events of Alien: Isolation, Amanda Ripley is kept silent by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation about the xenomorph threat. Enter Zula Hendricks, an Ex-Colonial Marine, in need of Ripley’s help to expose a sinister bio-weapons program. The duo teams up against an upgraded arsenal designed to keep the darkest atrocities secret!
