Dave Franco is set to follow in the footsteps of his brother James by getting behind the camera for his feature directorial debut The Rental, and Deadline is reporting that Dan Stevens (Beauty and the Beast) and Alison Brie (GLOW) are set to star alongside Sheila Vand (A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night) and Jeremy Allen White (Shameless).
The Rental has been written by Franco and Joe Swanberg and is described as “a character-driven horror thriller about two couples who rent a vacation home for what should be a celebratory weekend get-away.”
“I couldn’t be more excited about partnering with Black Bear and to be working with such an amazing group of actors for my directorial debut,” said Franco, whose recent acting credits include If Beale Street Could Talk and The Disaster Artist, the latter of which also starred Alison Brie.
Filming on The Rental is set to get underway in April.
