Variety is reporting that Allison Janney is set to reunite with director Tate Taylor on the upcoming thriller The Girl on the Train, where she’ll play a police detective. Janney has previously collaborated with Taylor on all of his projects, appearing in Pretty Ugly People, The Help and Get on Up, as well as the 2003 short Chicken Party.

The Girl on the Train “follows a woman (played by Emily Blunt) devastated by her recent divorce who spends her commute fantasizing about a seemingly perfect married couple who live in a house that her train passes every day. Along the way, she becomes entangled in a mystery revolving around the couple.”
The Girl on the Train will open in theaters on October 7th 2016, with a cast that also includes Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation), Jared Leto (Suicide Squad), Justin Theroux (The Leftovers), Haley Bennett (The Equalizer) and Édgar Ramírez (Joy).
