The invasion of Amazon’s expensive blockbuster acquisition only began over the weekend, but it appears that The Tomorrow War has already had enough of an impact (read our ★★★★ review here) on the streaming statistics for the studio to start negotiations with Skydance over a potential sequel.
According to Deadline discussions are in place to bring the whole creative team back, both in front of and behind the camera, including director Chris McKay (The Lego Batman Movie) and screenwriter Zach Dean, as well as stars Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge and J.K. Simmons.
The Tomorrow War broke global viewing records over the weekend, with 2.4M U.S. households tuning in to the science-fiction thriller, along with record-breaking viewership in Brazil, India, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Australia, Mexico, Argentina and Japan.
