It may have garnered largely positive reviews when it was released at the tail end of 2020, including our own which said “This show is something which will get better over time”. However, time is something that Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s Truth Seekers TV show won’t be afforded the luxury of, because Amazon have cancelled the ghost-hunting supernatural comedy after one season.
Frost, who co-wrote Truth Seekers with his comedy sparring partner Simon Pegg revealed the news on Instagram, telling his followers that the news was “a massive kick in the willy”.
In a video that’s no longer available to view on his account, the Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz comedian said “We really put our all into this – our heart and soul, and blood in some cases, so to not come back is really sad for us. It’s a shame. I think we had lots of lovely ghost stories to tell – stories that will remain now untold. If you liked the show, thank you. And if you didn’t, are you happy now? Happy now?”

A ghost-hunting duo team up to uncover and film paranormal sightings across the U.K. They stake out haunted churches, underground bunkers, and abandoned hospitals using an array of homemade ghost-detecting gizmos and share their adventures on an online channel. Their supernatural experiences grow more frequent, terrifying, and even deadly as the pair begin to uncover a conspiracy that could threaten the entire human race.
Truth Seekers is available to stream now on Amazon Prime and features a cast that includes Nick Frost, Simon Pegg, Emma D’Arcy, Samson Kayo, Malcolm McDowell, Susan Wokoma, and Julian Barratt.
