Amazon’s The Peripheral adds Jack Reynor

April 1, 2021 by Ricky Church

Amazon’s upcoming sci-fi series The Peripheral has added Jack Reynor (Strange Angel) to the cast. He joins Chloë Grace Moretz (Suspiria) and Gary Carr (21 Bridges) in the series, which comes from writer Scott B. Smith (The Burnt Orange Heresy) and Westworld creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy.

Reynor will play Burton, the brother to Moretz’s Flynne. He is “a veteran of the United States Marine Corps’ elite Haptic Recon force, is hired for a security job which takes place in what he thinks is cyberspace. When Flynne temporarily takes his place, she witnesses something that might have been murder.”

Based on the novel by William Gibson, The Peripheral follows Flynne Fisher (Moretz), “a woman trying to hold together the pieces of her broken family in a forgotten corner of tomorrow’s America. Flynne is smart, ambitious and doomed. She has no future – until the future comes calling for her.”

Smith will write, executive produce and act as co-showrunner for the series alongside Greg Plageman (Person of Interest), who will also co-showrun and executive produce. The Peripheral falls under the deal Nolan and Joy signed with Amazon last year and they will executive produce through their Kilter Films company. It will be directed by Vincent Natali (Hannibal), who is also set to executive produce.
