During an interview with Aquaman star Nicole Kidman last week, Justice League’s Amy Adams suggested that her time as the DCEU’s Lois Lane could be over, with the Oscar-winner stating: “I think I’m out of the DC universe now… I think they are revamping that.”
Couple this with the recent – and as-yet-unconfirmed – reports about Henry Cavill’s possible Superman exit, it was easy to take this as confirmation that Warner Bros. and DC Films have shifted their attention fully from the Man of Steel. However, Adams may have spoken a little too soon, as she has now revealed that she hasn’t had any official word on her status.
“You know what’s funny? I actually don’t know,” Adams clarified to Den of Geek when asked about her comments. “I haven’t had any official conversation with anybody. I was just talking with Nicole Kidman about it, and I was like, ‘Oh, I guess I’ve got to be careful what I say!’ But yeah, I haven’t had any word officially.”
So, it seems Adams is still attached to the DC Extended Universe for the time being, even though there doesn’t appear to be anything on the horizon for her character at this point. But, as we know, DC’s plans often change with the wind, so perhaps we haven’t seen the last of Adams’ roving Daily Planet reporter just yet.
