Marvel superheroes are currently in vogue at the moment with the success of big screen adaptations such as Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Avengers Assemble, and now it appears we may be seeing some of Marvel’s favorite characters on the small screen too.
While speaking to ShockTillYouDrop at the launch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Monstrous Centennial: Universal’s Legacy of Horror film series, Guillermo del Toro gave an update on an Incredible Hulk TV series that he has been working on with the ABC network and executive David Eick (Battlestar Galactica): “Right now all I know is the official word I was given is that there’s a writer they want. They are very interested in me meeting with him. He’s very, very busy. The official word is we are holding, but I don’t know…”
Del Toro also pointed out that the success of The Avengers may speed up the delay but the planned series has no connection to Joss Whedon or any of his upcoming projects. It will be interesting to see if Marvel and ABC push ahead with this idea given the popularity of the original Incredible Hulk TV series staring Bill Bixby as Dr Banner and the legendary Lou Ferringo as The Incredible Hulk.
