As awards season begins to heat up in the final few weeks of 2023, the European Film Academy has unveiled the winners of the 2023 European Film Awards, led by director Justine Triet’s acclaimed courtroom drama Anatomy of a Fall [read our ★★★★★ review here].
The French film won five gongs including Best European Film, Best European Director, Best European Screenwriter (Triet and Arthur Harari) and Best European Actress (Sandra Hüller), while Mads Mikkelsen was named Best European Actor for The Promised Land, which also won two further craft awards.
