It looks like director Ryan Cogler’s Rocky spin-off Creed is starting to pick up speed, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward and former Commonwealth light heavyweight champion Tony Bellew are both in talks to join the film.
Creed will reunite Cogler with his Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan, who is set to portray the grandson of Apollo Creed. Bellew is in talks to play his main opponent, a character called ‘Pretty Ricky Porter’, while Sylvester Stallone will reprise the role of Rocky Balboa, who will serve as mentor to Creed.
Creed is slated to begin production in January, shooting in Vegas and Philadelphia.
