Not much is known about the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Last month we got to see the first trailer which got fans very excited, but the cast of the film are keeping their mouths shut on any details about the film.
Whilst on the red carpet for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, actor Andy Serkis spoke to Entertainment Weekly, revealing a few minor details about who he is playing, but still not giving a great deal away.
We heard Andy Serkis’ voice in the trailer and he was asked if it was altered in anyway to cover it up, he said: “That is the character, there’s no digital manipulation. That’s just me.”
He was then asked about the rumour of having multiple roles in the film to which he responded: “Not true at all, I can say I only play one character.”
EW then asked Can we safely assume, from that weary voice, that the character has seen some harsh action in the galaxy over the years? “I have to be very careful about how I answer these questions. The character …” he says, followed by a long pause. “He’s been through some stuff.”
“I can’t say a single thing about that. I’m sorry!” Serkis says with a massive grin. “These things will all come out in the fullness of time, I promise.”
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set for release on December 18th 2015 and sees returning stars Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) joined by John Boyega (Attack the Block), Adam Driver (Girls), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Domhnall Gleeson (Dredd), Daisy Ridley (Silent Witness), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave), Miltos Yerolemou (Game of Thrones), Max von Sydow (The Exorcist), Jessica Henwick (Spirit Warriors), Christina Chong (24: Live Another Day) and newcomers Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen.
