While the final scenes of Avengers: Infinity War saw a host of character perishing as a result of Thanos’ snap, the fate of many supporting players in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was left up in the air.
The Russos have previously addressed the status of a number of supporting characters, including Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o), Lady Sif (Jaimie Alexander), Betty Ross (Liv Tyler), Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) and Howard the Duck (Seth Green).
Now we can add two more names to that list, with Mission: Impossible – Fallout star Angela Bassett revealing the fate of her Black Panther character Ramonda, as well as that of her daughter Shuri, played by Letitia Wright.
“No,” said Bassett when asked by Screen Rant if her character died as a result of The Snap. “Neither did my daughter. Shuri, she’s a bright girl there in Wakanda. So…”
Given that the surviving members of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (minus Tony Stark) were left in Wakanda following their defeat to Thanos, it seems a good chance that Ramonda and Shuri will pop up in Avengers 4. Might we even see Shuri taking on the mantle of the Black Panther following T’Challa’s “death”?
