Disney is working on a new female led Santa Claus movie and Anna Kendrick is up for the lead role.
From Marc Lawrence, the writer of Miss Congeniality, the film – which is working under the title Nicole – revolves around the tale of Santa’s daughter who has to take up the family business after her father decides to retire.
An exclusive coming from Variety reports that Kendrick, the Pitch Perfect star, is currently in talks to take centre stage in Disney’s reimagining.
Marc Lawrence will also be directing the movie, his first outing in the main chair since The Rewrite which starred Hugh Grant. Susanne Todd will produce the movie for Disney.
Kendrick herself has appeared recently in The Accountant, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and Trolls and will be returning for the third Pitch Perfect movie next December.
