Peacock has dropped the official trailer for the true-crime drama A Friend of the Family, which stars Jake Lacy (The White Lotus), Anna Paquin (True Blood), Colin Hanks (Dexter), and McKenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) in a series produced by a member of the family at the heart of this harrowing tale.
Set during the 70s, the nine-episode limited series tells the story of the Broberg family, the victims of a master manipulator who managed to befriend them in order to kidnap their daughter Jan on multiple occasions. Created by Nick Antosca (The Act), you can take a look at the creepy new trailer below…
‘A Friend of the Family’ is based on the harrowing true story of the Broberg family, whose daughter Jan was kidnapped multiple times over a period of a few years by a charismatic, obsessed family “friend.” The Brobergs — devoted to their faith, family, and community — were utterly unprepared for the sophisticated tactics their neighbor used to exploit their vulnerabilities, drive them apart, and turn their daughter against them. This is the story of how their lives were permanently altered — and how they survived.
A Friend of the Family is set to premiere on Peacock on October 6th in the US and October 7th in the UK.
