Variety is reporting that Anne Hathaway (The Dark Knight Rises, The Intern) is set to star in an adaptation of the acclaimed stage play Grounded.
Grounded “tells the story of a conflicted American Air Force pilot tasked with operating an unmanned drone.” Hathaway will star in and produce the film after appearing in a New York production of the play in 2015, which was directed by Julie Taymor (Across the Universe). Whilst she was performing in the play, Hathaway snapped up the film rights for the project.
Hathaway returns to the big screen later this month as she reprises her role as the White Queen in Disney sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass.
