Twisted Metal has found new players for its second season with Variety reporting that Anthony Carrigan has joined the series as Calypso.
Carrigan will play “the mysterious, charismatic host and creator of a dangerous demolition derby tournament, who invites all assassins, vigilantes, mercenaries, and joyriders to participate. To the winner, he offers the prize of making their greatest wish come true, but with Calypso, there’s always a twist.”
Carrigan joins fellow new additions Richard de Klerk, Patty Guggenheim, and Tiana Okoye, who have been cast in recurring guest roles which are being kept under wraps at present.
Twisted Metal, a half-hour live-action TV series based on the classic PlayStation game series, is a high-octane action comedy based on an original take by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith, about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.
Featuring in the first season of Twisted Metal are Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier), Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Joe Seanoa (AEW), Will Arnett (The LEGO Batman Movie) and Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man: No Way Home).
Twisted Metal season one is streaming now on Peacock.
