Apollo 13 creative team reuniting for sci-fi adaptation Seveneves

June 10, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Skydance Productions has tapped the Apollo 13 team of director Ron Howard, producer Brian Grazer and writer Bill Broyles for an adaptation of Neal Stephenson’s bestselling sci-fi novel Seveneves.

Published in 2015, Seveneves “centers on a catastrophic event that renders Earth a ticking time bomb, and nations band together to devise a plan to ensure the survival of humanity in outer space. Five thousand years later, their progeny — seven races now 3 billion strong — embark on another audacious journey to an alien world utterly transformed by cataclysm and time: Earth.”

Skydance’s David Ellison is set to produce the film alongside Howard and Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment.
