April update for World of Warships comes to PC

April 12, 2024 by Andrew Newton

The April update for Wargaming’s naval battle MMO World of Warships is now available for players on PC and brings the American battleship Wisconsin to the Dockyard.  There’s also a new special Event Pass with two 20 level progressions lines for Japanese Golden Week holidays plus the return of the hugely popular Asymetric Battles.  Watch the new video below for all the updates in this latest patch.

The Tier X American battleship Wisconsin is in the Dockyard and there’s a little bit of work to do for players to unlock her.  Players will need to complete 30 phases of the shipbuilding process, of which 28 phases can be completed by carrying out Dockyard combat missions.  There’s an extra treat for those who work through these missions as players will also be rewarded with the American battleship West Virginia 1944.

The real USS Wisconsin is now a naval museum ship in Norfolk Virginia but in-game is a force to be reckoned with due to her nine 406mm main battery guns in three turrets, high speed and good concealment. This vessel also comes with speciality combat instructions that decrease consumable preparation and reload time.  During this time, there will be several in-game bundles available to purchase with 100% of the proceeds going to The Nauticus Foundation.

This update also celebrates the Japanese Golden Week holidays with a brand new Event Pass.  Set across two 20-level progression lines, players will be able to earn a range of rewards such as four different camouflages, permanent bonus package for Tier VII ships and two different Commanders, Andrei Teodorescu from Romania and Ashikaga Teru from Japan.  For the duration of this update, players can get hands-on with a new camouflage featuring a special destruction animation.

For fans of the PvE gameplay, World of Warships brings back the Asymmetric Battles.  Until 16th May, players will be able to select from Tier VI-X vessels and take on an armada of 12 bot vessels.

The April update will also continue Early Access to Commonwealth cruisers which will become researchable in the Tech Tree as of update 13.4.  From 22nd-29th April, there will be three new Brawls available for Tier X destroyers, cruisers and battleships in 9v9 format battles.

Head on to World of Warships on PC and start earning the USS Wisconsin now.
