Archiact announces Evasion, the next generation in VR combat

October 25, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Vancouver based VR developer Archiact have announced Evasion, their new intense VR shooter that will be coming HTC Vive or Oculus Rift in early 2018.  Evasion is an intense bullet hell game that will immerse players in epic co-op multiplayer battle.  Archiact have released a new trailer to accompany the announcement which can be seen below…

Evasion takes players to a world where a powerful alien race have invaded.  As a member of a small rebel army, players will team up with others and fight their way through extreme laser fire and destructible environments.  Take to the battlefield solo or co-op with 3 other friends and experience the fight against the unique ‘Swarm A.I’ enemy behaviour system that adds a new level of tension.

Players will be able to choose from four different hero classes including the Striker, Surgeon, Engineer or Warden, each of which have their own strengths, abilities and unique weapons.  As players level up their characters can be customised by upgrading different abilities to suit your own play style.

Rather than the common means of ‘teleportation’ locomotion in VR games, Archiact have promised the experience of free movement so that gamers can walk, run and dive into battle.  Just the thing that gamers have been craving for a long time.  These locomotion modes can be customised by players to allow for more comfort when playing.

“Archiact has been crafting immersive VR entertainment since 2013,” said Kurt Busch, Studio Head at Archiact. “With Evasion, the team is using everything we’ve learned and weavingour experience into a truly genre-defining AAA title. With innovative locomotive movement and intense FPS gameplay, we’re convinced Evasion will prove a stand-out VR experience and we can’t wait for gamers to play it themselves.”

Evasion will feature:

  • Action packed and high-intensity sci-fi shooter gameplay.
  • Co-operative Campaign for 1-4 players.
  • Total immersion with ‘next-gen’ full body avatars powered by IKinema.
  • Authentic FPS locomotion options for the most realistic VR combat experience.
  • Powerful class-based gameplay with customizable ability upgrades.
  • Best in-class physics & destruction, enhanced for the Intel® Core™ i7 and i9 processors.
  • Replayable missions with randomized objectives & enemy encounters.
  • Spectacular Unreal Engine visuals & 3D Spatial Audio brings combat to life.
