Following Hereditary and Midsommar, Ari Aster has established himself as a rising figure in the horror genre of the film industry and while little is known about his next feature film, the director has teased some minor details.
In a recent interview with UC Santa Barbara’s Associated Students Program Board (via Daily Nexus), Aster once again teased his next project will be a “nightmare comedy” and runs longer than his previous two films.
“All I know is that it’s gonna be four hours long, [and rated] over 17 [years of age],” Aster teased.
Unfortunately, as this is only a transcript of the interview, it is hard to distinguish if Aster is being serious or if he is joking regarding the film’s length. However, the duration of his films has been increasing with Hereditary clocking in at 2 hours and 7 mins, Midsommar at 2 hours and 28 mins, and Midsommar‘s extended cut at 2 hours and 51 mins.
