ARK Park now available for VR platforms

March 23, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Snail Games’ ARK Park is now available for all major VR systems and takes players to experience a realistic dinosaur theme park simulation.  Players will choose their own adventure in the park, visiting whichever biome they want when they want.  This is certainly the place for dinosaur fans and Ark gamers to visit.

In ARK Park players will visit a series of VR-driven theme park attractions within different biomes.  Each of these biomes have their own distinct weather patterns, vegetation and terrain making them ideal environments for specific types of dinosaurs.  The game features a time of day mechanic that includes dawn, day, evening and night and this will affect both biomes and the creatures; this means that if you want to see certain dinosaurs then you will have to visit at a set time.

The park includes more than 50 different species all of which can be interacted with, tamed or even fought off.  A gene scanner can be used to collect gene fragments from these prehistoric creatures and these can be used to unlock blueprints for tools, lures and weapons.

ARK Park features:

  • Explore a variety of maps without a linear storyline.
  • Collect eggs and incubate them to raise your own dinosaurs.
  • Find Dinosaur DNA and trade them to craft useful items and more powerful weapons.
  • Defend the park from rampaging dinosaurs across 6environments!
  • Multiplayer options for group ‘Park Tours’.

“After many years in development, we can safely say that VR is starting to mature as a technology. The potential for very personal, eye-opening experiences is there – and I believe that ARK Park may be one of the first games to fully deliver on that promise. ARK Park is launching with hundreds of exquisitely-detailed dinosaurs, 6 awe-inspiring park attractions, and gameplay choices ranging from pure exploration and crafting to dinosaur breeding and combat. We can’t wait to welcome both ARK: Survival Evolved veterans and VR novices from all corners of the world into this new and exciting addition to the ARK franchise.” Tianqi Wu. Vice President, Snail Games.

ARK Park is available for all major VR platforms now.
