Last year’s Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles performed so well at the box office on its opening weekend, that Paramount announced its sequel before a director or cast had been set. It’s expected many of the cast will return, but now we have our first new addition.
Variety are reporting that Arrow star Stephen Amell has landed the role of Casey Jones, having beaten out several other actors who screen tested for the role with Megan Fox over the weekend. No word yet on who the other actors were. Amell himself seemingly also confirmed it via Twitter:

There were rumours and speculation that Casey Jones would be added to the cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 (which could be called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Half Shell), which were confirmed by producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. It is also expected that Bebop and Rocksteady will also be making their big screen debuts in the movie.
Set for release on June 3rd 2016, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will be directed this time by David Green (Earth to Echo) and should see a returning cast that includes Megan Fox (Transformers) as April O’Neil, Johnny Knoxville (Jackass Presents Bad Grandpa) as Leonardo, Alan Ritchson (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) as Raphael, Jeremy Howard (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) as Donatello, Noel Fisher (Battle Los Angeles) as Michaelangelo, Danny Woodburn (Seinfeld) and Tony Shalhoub (Monk) as Splinter, Will Arnett (The LEGO Movie) as Vernon Fenwick, William Fichtner (The Dark Knight) as Eric Sacks and Whoopi Goldberg (Ghost) as Bernadette Thompson with Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio.
