Back in the summer of 2018 it was announced that Jeff Robinov’s Studio 8 would be teaming with comic book creator Rob Liefeld for a big screen adaptation of his Image Comics title Prophet, and it seems the project is finally starting to take shape as Deadline has revealed that Arrowverse executive producer Marc Guggenheim has been set to write the script.
Prophet revolves around the character of John Prophet, a homeless man who volunteers for medical experiments during World War II and is transformed into a ruthless DNA-enhanced super soldier. Put into a cryogenic freeze for a future mission, Prophet awakens early in our time and finds himself a fish out of water searching for a mission that doesn’t exist.
Although much of Guggenheim’s past work has been for television (including the superhero shows Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl), he has previously written the scripts for 2011’s Green Lantern movie, along with 2013’s Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.

According to Deadline’s report, Studio 8 is hoping to launch a franchise based around Prophet and has Adrian Askarieh (Hitman: Agent 47) and Brooklyn Weaver (Run All Night) on board to produce the movie alongside Robinov and Deadpool and Cable creator Liefeld.
