It looks like Assassin’s Creed director Justin Kurzel may have found his next project, with The Tracking Board reporting that the Australian filmmaker is attached to Ruin, a gritty revenge thriller from writers Ryan and Matt Firpo.
According to the site, the film follows “a nameless ex-Nazi captain who navigates the ruins of post-WWII Germany determined to atone for his crimes during the war by hunting down the surviving members of his former SS Death Squad.”
Apparently there’s a lot of interest in the project from Hollywood studios, who are currently bidding on the package. No word yet on whether we could get a third collaboration between Kurzel and his Macbeth and Assassin’s Creed star Michael Fassbender, who is certainly no stranger to hunting Nazis after Inglourious Basterds and X-Men: First Class.
