A TV adaptation of the popular video game franchise Assassin’s Creed is in development according to Ubisoft.
With the very recent relative failure, financially and critically, of the big screen adaptation of the video game series Assassin’s Creed, one would think that the franchise is done in terms of live action drama.
But apparently this is not the case, as Aymar Azaizia, the head of content for the game over at Ubisoft, has spilled the beans in a recent Reddit AMA about a future television version of the series.
When asked about the prospect, Azaizia didn’t give anything away but did confirm its existence with this response to a fan:
“It’s like the movie guys, we will take our time, to get sure we deliver something we can be proud of, but if you wonder if it’s on our plan… YES”.
This might be surprising to some but this is a significant title in the gaming world, and while not quite as potent as it once was, there is still money to be made with the IP, so perhaps a TV series is the right direction to take the property.
