After we reported the news of its record-breaking first two days of international release, Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron continued the trend through its first weekend of release with a massive opening, according to Deadline.
Age of Ultron opened to a reported $201 million in its first weekend of international screenings, beating the first film’s haul by a whopping 44% and breaking many records along the way. Debuting at number one in all of the countries it opened (all 44 of them), the comic-book superhero sequel is on its way to becoming Marvel’s biggest film yet.
South Korea saw the biggest opening for the film at around $28.2 million, with the UK second on the list with a gross of $27.3 million. Russia ($16.2 million), Brazil ($13.1 million) and Australia ($13.1 million) followed swiftly, while the IMAX release of the film added $10.4 million in total.
