Last year, Marvel Studios scored the biggest box office opening in history, with Avengers: Infinity War pulling in $640.4 million – a hugely impressive feat given that this didn’t include the highly lucrative Chinese market, where it opened two weeks later with $199.3 million.
Well, with its follow-up Avengers: Endgame now granted an April 24th release, putting it in line with the domestic launch on April 26, analysts are predicting that the closing chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ‘Infinity Saga’ is set to debut with an insane $840 million worldwide.
Avengers: Infinity War went on to earn $2.05 billion at the global box office, becoming only the fourth movie ever to reach the $2 billion mark after Avatar ($2.788 billion), Titanic ($2.188 billion) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.068 billion).
If ever a movie is going to challenge James Cameron’s crown as the box office King of the World, then it seems it may be this one.
